Eli's 6th Birthday

I can't believe he's 6! Yes, my favorite nephew in the entire world is 6 years old! I think it was just yesterday he was so young and now he is such a big kid!  And what a kid he is: He is already reading and he just started Kindergarten this year. He is learning to play the guitar - he can strum really good!  He even sings and he has a good voice too.   He performs and puts on shows for us all.  This is his new stage my dad build him for his birthday.  You can tell he kind of likes it!  My mom decorated the vest for him! The drums are Emory's.  She got a set for Christmas this year, but so did Eli!  He also got an electric guitar and an amp. The kid is set!  He just needs an agent!

Happy Birthday Eli!  Love you always, Angie

Where has the time gone?

I have just read the last four years of my life!  My eyes are red from tears, my nose is running and I must say, I am pretty funny!  My blog posts were great!  I am so mad at myself for stopping.  Wait, I did notice the connection - when I started teaching elementary, I had no more extra time.

I actually sat down at my computer over and hour and half ago to make a supply list for school, but then I saw this cute movie of Emery on my computer and really wanted to watch it, that lead to more videos, then reading my posts and now this post.  Should I be working, Yes.... but I am not!  I am going to make sure I blog often.  I have discovered google+ and it a bit easier then blogging but this has been good to reconnect with the past and to learn, that my first movie was in 2008?  I never knew that!  I make movies all of the time and even show other people how to make them...it seems like I have been doing it for years....well, I guess I have now.

I have a new foster, her name is Penny.  She is in love with 14 year old Tiff and seems to protect her.  Gotta love that!  Anyone who is nice to my Tiffy is special!  Tiffy is doing great, she does sleep quite a bit and sometimes sleeps so long she can barely make it out to the grass to potty!  Wooops!  I have to look out for dog bombs in the morning before we go out for our walk!

I am about to make kale chips to go with my burger - bread less of course! They better be good. I like kale in soup but I am leery of the chips. We'll see.

I am starting a new book list, I have read quite a few but I haven't listened to too many lately.  My library doesn't have the best selection on those.  So since January I have three under my belt!  Check them out!

Enjoy!

Superbowl Sunday 2013

Tiffy and I are hosting our very first Super Bowl party! I am really excited and looking forward to trying some new treats and watching the game on my new big tv, that my family gave me for Christmas! I am also excited to be with my family!

I started off by looking up traditional foods from each city.  San Francisco and Baltimore.  Since, I just visited San Fran, I knew I was going to make Bagna Calda from the Stinking Rose.  They call it garlic in a hot tub and boy is it good.  Not to mention, when we eating at this great restaurant  we say Tony Dungee.  The former coach of the Indianapolis Colts! How cool is that?

So, here is the menu:

  • Bagna Calda served with sourdough bread slices
  • Crab salad with red onions, celery served on rolls
  • Pit Beef, Baltimore's version of BBQ - served with horseradish sauce and onions on kaiser rolls
  • Berger cookies which are a shortbread cookie smothered with chocolate icing but the icing is Ghirardelli chocolate! The cookies I made already and are a bit too doughy for me but I also made my famous chocolate chip cookies as a back-up!
I sure hope it all turns out good and even if it's not, it will be something great to write about!  I'll post pictures in my follow up post!

Enjoy!
