I started off by looking up traditional foods from each city. San Francisco and Baltimore. Since, I just visited San Fran, I knew I was going to make Bagna Calda from the Stinking Rose. They call it garlic in a hot tub and boy is it good. Not to mention, when we eating at this great restaurant we say Tony Dungee. The former coach of the Indianapolis Colts! How cool is that?
So, here is the menu:
- Bagna Calda served with sourdough bread slices
- Crab salad with red onions, celery served on rolls
- Pit Beef, Baltimore's version of BBQ - served with horseradish sauce and onions on kaiser rolls
- Berger cookies which are a shortbread cookie smothered with chocolate icing but the icing is Ghirardelli chocolate! The cookies I made already and are a bit too doughy for me but I also made my famous chocolate chip cookies as a back-up!
I sure hope it all turns out good and even if it's not, it will be something great to write about! I'll post pictures in my follow up post!
