It's a busy summer
I just got back last night from a three day Yearbook workshop in the Big D and it was great!
P.S.Vicki, you are going too, right? It was really nice and very well done. From the hotel, to the food to the schedule to the breakout sessions ; it was well worth it.
Laura Walters, the new Yearbook advisor from Walsh and I found that Marilyn Scroggin's class to be far more informative. It was a "Beginner" section and I still found it very helpful. I have sponsored Yearbooks for 6 years but mine don't even compare to the ones shown at the workshop. The teachers who are teaching these sessions are really good and are really serious about Yearbook design and really sweet to offer so much free advice. I am definitely a beginner compared to them!
So my summer is going great, I have been asked to foster another basset and am having a hard time saying No. I did say I would think about it, I think- I hope. But if I don't stand strong will find myself with four dogs! Yikes! I do think that Cooper will either run away if I get another basset or will seriously consider moving in with my parents! She is a pretty good sport. If anyone is interested in Fostering, this girl, her name is Annabelle and just needs a temporary home! Check her out here: http://www.hhbassetrescue.org/available.asp
My mom had knee replacement surgery last Tuesday and is doing very well. She is home and managing her walker and my Dad even better! I went over today to help her a bit and she is moving her knee quiet well. I was impressed! More on her recovery later!

Good to hear you're enjoying your summer. And I'm glad you mentioned your "live" professional development... so I don't forget about my own!
