Our First Video

I am not sure how I did it but I finally made a video with Tifffy howling! This was one of my goals this summer actually. I really wanted to get the dogs on YouTube, but this video will do for now. Maybe when I get my new computer I will be able to add more little movies.

We have a new dog park in town and I want to take the Bassets out to that too, and that would be great footage to add on to the blog as well. Enjoy!

That is great - I love your dogs. So what tool did you use to put it all together? I've got one of the intelligent classroom laptops and it looks like they come with editing tools - is it one of those? Now that you have the trick down, how could you use this with your kids.

You have very cute dogs. My fiance would be jealous. He wants a dog so bad. Anyways, I agree with mrs. rice, what tool did you use to put it all together? I have looked through all of the tutorials on podcasting, but they don't talk about how to add photos or a slideshow or videos to the audio files. I guess that might be one of our upcoming lessons. Either way, nice start to podcasting. This tool might be first used to show your students a little bit about you as a person. They are alway astonished when they find out their teachers are human. But you could also use it to record classroom lessons, or a step by step process for projects that students would be working on at home, etc. The possiblilies are endless.

In order to post my podcast video, I had to upload it to the archiving site and use an open url. (I thought I understood from our web 2.0 site this was the only option for blogger folk) I dislike it because it brings the reader to a third party site and just looks bad. Did you post yours directly from your computer to the post through the compose page -- by the way you may win the reward for inspired "script"

Cool Dogs!
You can actually do a video podcast posting from within blogger. It’s the audio that you can’t do. Yes, I know! It sounds strange that you can do video and not audio podcasting inside of Blogger. Being that Blogger is owned by Google along with Google Video and YouTube, video is more of a priority to them than audio. So, if you use Blogger I recommend doing video podcasting rather than audio podcasting. You can search for a tutorial on Google. I have a teacher at Caraway Elem. that uses lots of video on his blogger site and he never leaves his Blogger page. http://mrcookscorner.blogspot.com/ Here is his web page if you want to check it out.
Make sure to leave a weekly reflections post. I’m eager to hear your reflections. I hope this was easy for you, but it is one of the hardest things well cover.
Wonderful Job!
