Basset Hounds Get Glaucoma? The Recovery: Week1

This picture was taken 4 days after Tiffy's surgery. You can see in her left eye (right eye if you are looking at her picture) the swelling in the brow and there are a few stitches in her eyelid.

I know her right eye looks different but remember she is a basset hound and they have those droopy, red eyes. So far the right eye is a-okay. Tiffy's pathology report came back from, Elizabeth you will like this, The University of Wisconsin, I know you didn't go there but.... and she does have genetic glaucoma. Drats! That means that Tiffy will have to have drops put in her eye twice a day for the rest of her life. This Timodol slows down the disease, somehow? Not sure about that. I just know I have to do it!

This next picture was taken Wednesday, one full week after her surgery. And you can see how much the swelling has gone down. Plus, I noticed she was getting some movement back in her brow. I think it looks much better and she is now off of all pain medication. She just takes antibiotics, obviously!

See these pictures are not so bad, I'll have more in a day or so.

Enjoy!
